Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Leytonstone takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to operating ethically, transparently and with integrity in all our business dealings, and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of exploitation.
Our Business and Commitment
Man with Van Leytonstone provides local and regional transport, removals and related logistical services. While we are a small to medium-sized enterprise, we recognise that modern slavery can affect businesses of every size and sector. We therefore treat the risk of forced labour, servitude, human trafficking and labour exploitation with the utmost seriousness.
We are committed to respecting human rights and upholding fair working conditions. All individuals who work for or with Man with Van Leytonstone must be treated with dignity and respect, receive lawful pay, and work in safe conditions free from coercion or abuse.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Man with Van Leytonstone has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking in any form. This applies to all aspects of our business, including direct employees, agency workers, contractors and other third parties who supply goods or services to us.
We will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation or individual involved in modern slavery practices. Where credible concerns arise, we will investigate promptly and, where appropriate, suspend, review or terminate the business relationship.
Our Supply Chains and Risk Management
Our supply chains primarily involve vehicle leasing or purchase, fuel providers, equipment suppliers and occasional subcontracted transport services. We recognise that some of these areas may present a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where temporary, migrant or low-paid work is involved.
To manage these risks, we aim to work with reputable suppliers who share our commitment to ethical conduct. We expect our suppliers and subcontractors to comply with all applicable labour and human rights laws and to maintain their own robust processes for preventing modern slavery.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are developing and implementing proportionate supplier due diligence procedures to identify, assess and mitigate the risk of modern slavery. These include asking key suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded or trafficked labour and that they have policies and controls in place to prevent such practices.
Where appropriate, we may conduct audits or request evidence of compliance from suppliers, such as written statements, policy documents or audit summaries. We reserve the right to review supplier practices at any time and to take corrective action if standards are not met, including enhanced monitoring or the ending of commercial relationships.
Staff Awareness, Responsibilities and Reporting Channels
All managers and relevant staff are responsible for helping to identify and report any concerns related to modern slavery. We provide guidance to our team on recognising warning signs, such as indications of coercion, restriction of movement, retention of documents or unexplained control by third parties.
Any employee, contractor or supplier who becomes aware of, or suspects, modern slavery connected to our business is encouraged to raise their concern without delay. Reports can be made to a line manager or a senior member of the management team. Individuals who report concerns in good faith will be supported and will not face any retaliation for doing so.
Continuous Improvement and Training
Man with Van Leytonstone is committed to continually improving our approach to tackling modern slavery. We will review and update our internal guidance and procedures to reflect developing best practice, changes in legislation and lessons learned from our own experience and that of the wider industry.
Where appropriate, we will provide additional information and awareness-raising to staff and key suppliers to strengthen understanding of modern slavery risks and our expectations.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our Modern Slavery Statement and associated measures rests with the companys senior management. They are accountable for ensuring that this commitment is embedded in our operations and that any reported concerns are investigated and addressed.
This statement will be reviewed at least once every twelve months. As part of that annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our actions, consider any incidents or concerns raised, and evaluate whether further steps are required to strengthen our controls. Updated versions of this statement will reflect any significant changes to our processes, risk profile or legal obligations.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Leytonstone and reflects our ongoing commitment to act ethically and responsibly in everything we do.
